ALDI - a lucky tool purchase. Why lucky...was waiting for ET at Waverley Gardens and while guarding the trolley this nice elderly ethnic (maybe Italian) couple came strolling past me. The gentleman was pushing a trolley with a big box on top - a mitre saw.
We started to chat and he informed it cost $49 down from $149 and there were only two left, battery & charger not included and sold out of those.
I said don't worry the same Xfinity battery powers all the Work Zone workshop & garden tools, they will come around again soon. With that bid them farewell and headed for ALDI.
On the way back tried Rowville no go. Brandon Park had chargers so got one - no batteries.
No hurry...we will wait and watch for the 4Ah batteries.
UPDATE: 6/2/18
Found a ALDI store with some 2.0Ah batteries so bought one for $29 to at least test the saw. Charged the battery, plugged in and the saw works OK but…while playing around checking it out the saw would start and then stop !!! and then not start at all !!!
Something funny here the saw is designed for the new 4.0Ah battery and there is a note in the box that using the 2.0Ah battery will result in reduced performance. Anyway returned the battery and will have to wait for the 4.0Ah to come on sale.
