Laminar flow water jet - revisited

Cleaning up around the garden shed and came across this water feature that's been neglected for the last 8 years - time flies!

The special hand-made brass nozzle jet that allows for undisturbed water flow - is missing! I just made another simplified nozzle jet from a steel washer; countersunk, ground and then polished. See my blog link at the end for the 2014 project build.

Laminar flow water jet - revisited

Cleaning up around the garden shed came across this water feature that's been neglected for the last 8 years - time flies!

The special hand-made brass nozzle jet that allows for undisturbed water flow - is missing! I just made another simplified nozzle jet from a steel washer; countersunk, ground and then polished. The result is quite acceptable. See my blog link below for the 2014 project build.

I still need a water pump to recirculate the water.

Laminar flow water jet

My first attempt at this and with the hot weather we are having lately not a bad time to play with water.

At the top is a length of 90mm PVC pipe. Then left to right:

  1. Assembled inlet side using a Stormwater Threaded Access Coupling with a Threaded Storm Cap screwed on, inside this are the shade mesh and scrubber pad filters.
  2. Scrubber filters.
  3. One of the shade mesh filters with its compression ring.
  4. The outlet assembly, like the inlet but turned over to show the other side.
  5. Threaded storm cap (with no outlet hole or nozzle) that screws onto…
  6. Last but not least -  straws!

Another new toy for kitties.
