Installing new driving lights for a family friend (that’s not me!).

I have done many jobs on the 1999 Winnebago over the years.

Reject Shop - Dashcams for $10

Comes with undocumented feature - interstellar radio reception!!!

Pretty sure transmissions are from the Triangulum Galaxy.

The audio on both cameras has so much interference it’s not possible to decipher the recorded audio.  Packed them up and returned for refund.

Streets of London (Alternating thumb fingerstyle)

Found this while cleaning up files. Trying out the built-in camera on the Lenovo AIO desktop. Which reminds me still need to get a decent mic for recording.

Camry washer jets blocked - Part 3

The black gunk or Biofilm is still giving me problems. The proper fix is to remove the washer fluid reservoir and give it a thorough cleaning but...that involves jacking up and removing the drivers side wheel then removing the mudguard cover to gain access to remove the reservoir!

Decided to try a sort of cyclic flush-out to avoid the above.

In the last post related to this I mentioned that the passenger nozzle jets clogged up again - just when I thought I was done. Removed the nozzle from the bonnet as shown to check and yeah...clogged with black gunk again.

Camry washer jets blocked - Part 2

The actual jets are clear, turns out both nozzles are internally blocked ??? and I have worked out the likely chain of events. Car was loaned to a family member and during the loan period the washer reservoir ran out of water. Water was added and I presume the washers still would not work cos when I went to use them the other day - nothing.

JY018 Pocket Drone – spare props

Downed drone update - 70th birthday present which is now over a month ago and still not flown the bloody thing! Been waiting on the eBay spare order – 10 packets (4 per pack)

Drone comes with a spare prop set including a little remove/install tool.

Note that all four props are different; A1-A2 and B1-B2. Interesting that the B2 prop kept coming off and in the end got lost. OK...fitted the spare B2 prop to have another go and again crashed, lost that one as well - bugger.

Acoustic guitar recording – update

Snippet from 'Streets Of London' (Ralph McTell)

Still trying to get the audio right, this time with a old condenser microphone via a camcorder cable into my Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000 – no good. Looks like I’ll have to buy a decent mic and preamp – ouch.

Update on micro helicopter

The kids got me one of these for Christmas.

I had to return for an exchange and found out they are around $60 bucks – shopping center stall.

Today at Caribbean market there we quite a few traders selling RC stuff, the SYMA S107 for $35 bucks!

SYMA S006G Alloy Shark Gyro 3Ch RC Helicopter

I found this heli difficult to fly. Actually I never really got to fly the beast because I could never get off the floor high enough to clear the ground effect thing. I returned and they kindly agreed to fix  - no charge.

Well…the heli is back and yes we have lift-off! I got a full 8 or 10 mins flight time and was able to hover and move around the lounge room – with caution no fancy stuff. The only blemish was an encounter with the chandeliers and I caught the thing on the way down – phew. Wife was watching TV in the next room – lucky.

Fish tank modifications

Fish are out and mice are in, so my older kid MK wanted the fish tank modified.
Job was to replace the hinged timber top with wire mesh.
So I made up two pine timber frames and stapled on cage wire.

Another new toy for kitties.
