Chooks - Heating the coop

Way back in May 2011 when we got some new little Pekins I provided them with some heating in their temporary dog house quarters. This winter the weather is so cold I decided to heat the coop in a similar way.

May 2011 – new chooks need to go through a integration period where they are separated for a while from the current mob. On this occasion I made use of a wooden dog house to house the new chooks and for heating suspended a reptile lamp from the apex of the hinged roof.

ALDI – Workzone Scroll Saw

While shopping in ALDI came across a solitary scroll saw – interesting. They were on sale a few weeks ago and thought about getting one but gave it a miss. This one looks like a return, the box has been opened and it’s got a hand written price tag of $55 down from $99.

Checked inside and none of the plastic bags had been opened – it’s all there. Wonder why it’s been returned let’s buy it and check it out I can always do the same myself.

Bandsaw 44 - Table update

As posted earlier when I fitted the new table to the saw I neglected to make sure the blade was correctly tensioned and aligned in the blade guides, so when I did setup things correctly the table ended up to the right of the blades true position - bugger. This in turn threw out the alignment of my freshly made insert so I had to butcher that to make it fit.

Wait there's more, then I noticed yesterday the table was also not parallel to the front of the saw - skewed to the right a bit. This morning we are going back to fix all that.
