14” Bandsaw – Mounting the motor

14" Bandsaw project - as mentioned in previous posts I gave up with the idea of a hinged motor mount, put that aside and carried on with balancing the lower wheel. With that done we are now back to mounting the motor assembly.

Decided to take the same approach as I did with the 8" bandsaw, the motor base will just sit on the bottom of the base box with allowance to move in both directions for belt tension (left to right) and belt alignment (front to back).

Here I glued and screwed a pine block to the motor base, then drilled and tapped a 3/8" hole for the threaded rod (belt tension). Smeared the tapped hole with Araldite before screwing in the threaded rod.
