Samsung Flow - WiFi file transfer

Samsung Flow - transferring files over WiFi between phone and desktop.

I am always connecting my phone to the desktop via USB to transfer files, so much so that I worried about the wear and tear on the phone USB connector.

The Samsung Flow app.

Scam telephone calls

We have a Panasonic phone system that does a good job of blocking unwanted callers.

However over the last few months the Panasonic base station has been busy announcing 'Call from private caller' and they seem to be increasing!

Lenovo Family Cloud (Client - phones/tablets)
Lenovo Family Cloud Server (Server - Win10/64bit PC)

Went to my bookmarked Lenovo system scan webpage and one of the software items on the list was indeed the Lenovo Family Cloud Server, went ahead and installed that with no issues.

Samsung Galaxy Note factory reset - continued

From my previous post decided to do a factory reset, running out of storage and went through all the usual stuff like *#9900# to clear the log/cat files etc which previously worked well - but not this time - and I don't want to root the thing to get to other stuff like lost/found. Did a Kies restore which went well and then off to Play Store to see (and this time short list) what apps I want back on the phone. We are done with the rebuild and now have 830MB free storage

Samsung Galaxy Note - factory reset

Some jobs are best left for a rainy day like doing a clean install on a Windows PC, or giving your workshop a good vacuum - or factory resetting your phone.

New phone system

We want to replace our aging Telstra 8200 five handset system so time for some research - I love researching stuff. Was interested in the Telstra Call Guardian 301 with extra handsets but they are not available WTF. Finally ended up at Harvey Norman Knox and unlike all the others that seemed to find even simple questions to difficult or not worth the time the guy at HNK was really good.

Panasonic phone system - update

Batteries are charged enough to setup the system - excitement. Went through the initial setup on Handset 1 which propagated to the other handsets and the base station. Next execute [MENU]#6241 to establish a Bluetooth connection between my Samsung Galaxy and Handset 1. Now the interesting bit, execute [MENU]#618 to copy Contacts from the paired Samsung to the shared phonebook, choice of Auto or Manual, I went Auto and away she went – done.

Enough for tonight and lots more to explore tomorrow including setting up the key finder.

New phone system–unpacking

Unpacking the box, first thing is to install the batteries and put everything on charge.

Samsung Phone - low memory !!!

I have a hand-me-down from the older kid, a Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000 which is a few years old now but still a very nice capable phone adequate for my needs.

However...and much to my surprise, the thing is running out of memory ??? Now with this type of Android device the whole memory thing can be very confusing, when it's connected to the Win7 box Kies reports Internal Memory 3.15/10.97GB and External Memory 1.09/3.68GB which is the 4GB SD card.

Table side by side GOOD
