Streets of London (Alternating thumb fingerstyle)

Found this while cleaning up files. Trying out the built-in camera on the Lenovo AIO desktop. Which reminds me still need to get a decent mic for recording.

Piano movers

The piano is being moved to the older kids new home, it’s been sitting in a corner of the rumpus room for many years. Looks like she will take it up again and has even organized a tutor who lives a few doors down.

Recording acoustic guitar

Back to the music stuff and recording acoustic guitar. Previous efforts have resulted in poor audio quality but happy with this recording using my Canon MV330i mini DV camcorder and a Sony stereo condenser microphone. Please view this on a desktop PC/Mac or other device with decent audio/speakers.

Acoustic guitar recording – update

Snippet from 'Streets Of London' (Ralph McTell)

Still trying to get the audio right, this time with a old condenser microphone via a camcorder cable into my Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000 – no good. Looks like I’ll have to buy a decent mic and preamp – ouch.

Acoustic guitar recording

The First Noel - My first attempt at recording something on a smart phone and posting to Facebook. The audio is disappointing so I need to do some research and then go shopping to setup better recording facilities. This Christmas carol has a lot of cord changes and I stuffed up a bit but never mind I'll be back with hopefully a cleaner version - with decent audio.

New guitar strings

The girls are tripping to The Glen so asked them to get me a set of acoustic guitar strings from JB-HiFi, Martin Acoustic Guitar Strings - Light. Can't remember the last time I had a string change on the Eston acoustic which itself must be 50+ years old.

ALDI Guitar Effects Pedal $29.99

Saturday 8th March
  • Choose from distortion, overdrive, chorus, heavy metal, delay or flanger
  • Powered by 9V battery (included) or 9V adaptor (not included)

I purchased the distortion, overdrive and delay units.

After a couple of weeks the delay started making funny noises - with no input connected!

Rather pleasant like bird calls out in the Australian bush lol

Returned for a refund and decided to get a BEHRINGER CS100 which I will post soon.
