Telstra offer - Upgrade to Superfast Internet

Telstra offer - Upgrade to Superfast Internet Add-On at no extra cost

Hi Alan,

We're excited to let you know that for a limited time we've upgraded your internet speed by giving you the Superfast Internet Add-On to your Premium Internet Plan at no additional cost (usually $30 per month) for the next 6 months.

The Superfast Internet Add-On has the potential to more than double the download speeds of your current plan's NBN Premium Evening Speed - the Superfast Internet Add-On has typical download speeds of 230Mbps (7-11pm).

Happy with 100/40 so will stay with that.

Note: The upload speed is normally above 30Mbps.

Foxtel Binge - the nine months of free Binge from Telstra has expired and to continue it’s  $14 per month. Decided to have a look around and we now have Disney Plus for 12 months @ $10 per month - happy with that.

Foxtel begone

Just cancelled Foxtel from Telstra.

I was on a good deal with Ent + Docs + Movies for $24 for the last 12 months but this time their best offer is $20 off the normal package prices - goodbye.

Goodbye Foxtel

Having cancelled to return just take to any post office and they do the rest. Make sure you have the return authorization code with you.

As posted 12 months ago struck a deal with Telstra to remove basic Entertainment cost from bundle so only paid $24.10 for Ent + Docs + Movies.

This time best offer was $20 off normal package prices - hasta la vista

Android TV Box

Winter is here so decided to come in out of the cold and moved the second (development) Android TV system inside to the balcony area - where it's warmer.

Telstra customers

For those who have, or thinking of getting the Telstra TV2 puck you can now simply add Netflix to your bundled account. Personally I don’t like any of the streaming stuff and prefer the movies package that is a part of my Foxtel from Telstra bundle.

Foxtel from Telstra

Although still happy with my Telstra T-Box, which Telstra pulled from sales last year and replaced with Telstra TV (stupid thing), I suspect T-Box services will end in the near future – don’t know ??? Today I was browsing the Telstra Foxtel offers when a Chat online popped up, OK Joy lets chat LOL. Advised her that none of the Telstra Foxtel packages appealed to me and that I want to build my own like on the Foxtel website, Entertainment + Movies + Doco...s for $56 bucks. She pointed me to a special online offer (see picture) where after signup I could fiddle with the packages to suit myself…BUT…that required credit/debit verification (no to that) and still includes Sport – which I don’t want. OK…Joy transferred me in-house to Honey (nice name LOL) and we went around the dance floor again resulting in a – done deal !!!

The Sports package is part of the online offer (offline for me) and yes I can remove that at a later date but she’s saying why would I ?

Install – free
IQ2 – free
Entertainment + Movies + Docos - $56 (same as Foxtel)
plus
Sports for $4 = $60 bucks
with
Friday 12th install

I will then remove Foxtel from T-box to recover $40, basically a $20 changeover – happy with that

We have Presto again

We have Presto again - last year we had it for 6 months free but it was pretty ho-hum so pulled out in the last month.

PRESTO-500x291

T-box channel 911 is promoting the 6 month free trial again so tried to take up the offer (again) but the promo code was rejected - fair enough.

Anyway...ET getting pretty sick of FTA rubbish so signed up using her e-mail to get the one month free trial. Already setup T-box's in lounge and balcony - and Lenovo 10" tablet.

Oh...and another slot reserved for one of the kids.

Presto - Damage control

Hi Alan,

Thanks for getting in touch, and apologies for the inconvenience. We appreciate your frustration, and can assure you that we are working on a resolution for those affected customers.

If you’ve not already, please confirm and go through the troubleshooting steps provided. As an initial troubleshooting step please perform a soft reset on the t-box, by pressing the reset button underneath for approximately 2 seconds.

As a gesture of goodwill, we will extend the length of your promotion so that you have a further month free.

In the interim if you can view Presto on an alternate device, such as a smartphone, tablet or desktop device, we will work towards identifying the root cause of this issue, rectify and update you as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience on this and will work to update you as soon as we have a resolution.

Thanks,
From the Presto Support Team

Presto is stuffed !

Been enjoying my (6 months free) Presto for a 2 months now, last night managed to stay awake right through Divergent !!!

Tonight is a different story - Presto is stuffed !!! No matter what I choose pressing the Play button throws up 'no entitlements for this user' ???

Checked Presto website and looks like this has been a ongoing issue for weeks now.

Panasonic 26" CRT TV

Purchased this in 2005 and its still going well.

Was moved from the lounge room down to the rumpus room (store room) where it sat in a corner when it was replaced with a Panasonic 42" plasma.

Found a new lease of life when it was lugged back up the stairs and into NJ's study to replace the Tevion 51cm CRT. Nothing wrong with the Tevion, the kid needed more AV inputs for all her entertainment stuff (Tevion only has one AV) which the Pana has.

Another new toy for kitties.
