Recovering 18650 batteries - Part 2

With one set of four batteries recovered and on charge for a while we can package with masking tape lol and see how it go's powering the 12V Garden Sentry.

Wire them in series.

Recovering 18650 batteries - Part 1

Hoping to power the 12V Garden Sentry from 18650 Batteries (3.7V li-ion rechargeable cells). We have two drill battery packs and a laptop battery.

Microwave rescue - Part 2

Started working on putting together a turntable.

Found a plate that does fit in there but I suspect it needs to be bit smaller, I'll keep looking.

This beast that belongs to a family friend has - lost it's bite.

This looks tricky - lots of screws and even springs (OMG) with a layered build.

V380 camera problem

Went to move it from the bird bath over to the cottage garden to monitor Speckles and when I plugged the micro USB cable into the camera connector it broke away and is now rattling around inside the camera housing – bugger.

Gave myself no chance of repairing this one!

Removed the base and the USB PCB socket dropped out onto the work bench. - the tiny mounting legs have broken off. No photo of the actual socket as it's too small (bloody tiny) for the phone camera to focus.

Reclaiming 18V 18650 battery pack - part 2

Cell 5 charged OK; so did the whole pack. We now have a handy 18V@2A power pack for powering projects.

Reclaiming 18V 18650 battery pack - part 1

Note: The electronics in these things commonly monitor the individual cells and for this one (from top) cells 2 & 5 are not being charged correctly. The batteries should come up OK with individual charging.

Cells 2 & 5 are reading very low. I have already charged cell 2 and it's come up to full voltage with current set to 350mA.

Gas wall furnace noisy fan.

Gas wall furnace blower fan air control unit - noisy fan.

This belongs to family friends.

They have two of these gas wall heaters so we swapped this noisy unit for the fan unit in the other one that isn’t used – kids have left home.

Nice timber off hard rubbish

Arrived home after the usual Monday shopping run with the shopping and - a bed

As posted annual council collection is this week and that bed was only a few doors down so ran back in the rain to grab that - some nice timber there (y)

Now...a few doors down the other way someone has put out a washing machine so I'll 'borrow' that with a hand trolley, pull out the motor and related electrical stuff - and return.

One minor issue, the remote battery cover is missing - that's fine.

Android TV and Kodi - Foxtel Go

Just installed the Foxtel Go addon on the balcony Kodi box - works well. This relates to my Sanyo projector system project cos I'm thinking of buying another dedicated Android TV box for that projector loaded with everything and now including Foxtel Go.
Ironically it's quite likely that today I'll be cancelling Foxtel from Telstra...more on that later.

Another new toy for kitties.
