Garden Sentry 12V - Part 4

In part we we made and assembled the sensor and dashcam camera mount. The next thing to mount is the water solenoid with irrigation fittings.

On the left is the completed PIR sensor head assembly. Moving along...
We need to mount the solenoid with it's poly couplers.

Worked out and marked where to cut the 1.2M length of pine - the support post.

Cut that on the cordless 8" mitre saw.

Now we need to notch out a corner to allow access to the thumb screw angle adjuster.

Like this.

The dashcam angle mechanism is now screwed onto the post.

That looking good.

We need to mount this assembly onto a spacer block so the impact sprinkler clears the post.

I'm using a 1/2 round wood lathe chisel to cut a trough for the irrigation couplers to sit in there.

Finish with a 1/2 round wood rasp.

A 2nd block side on gives us the required height.

We need to screw them together.

Using ALDI WorkZone Torx screws.

With that done we need to fix onto the main support post.

Measure and mark.

Clamp and screw together.

Later on we'll use cable ties to hold that in place.

Back soon...
