Garden Sentry 12V - Part 3

Back from Bunnings with the irrigation fittings I need so we can now start building the low voltage motion activated sprinkler.

From left PIR Sensor, Impact Sprinkler, 15mm Female To Female Rural Poly Irrigation Coupling , Irrigation Solenoid, 15mm Female To Female Rural Poly Irrigation Coupling, 13mm Tail x 15mm BSP Male Director, then garden hose (phew).

Fiddling with layout on length of pine timber.

Planning to mount the sensor on this broken dashcam suction mount, the base will removed.

Measuring up a bit of plywood to hold the sensor and suction mount. That nut is from the sensor threaded base mount.

Marked out the hole for the sensor threaded base.

To drill (or bore) a large hole like that in a small piece of timber we need to use a Forstner drill bit.

A normal drill bit would have shredded that.

Now for the suction mount.

With that done we need to down tools and do some garden work to fill the green bin for collection.

Back tomorrow...
