My first faulty night light return

Fortunately it's a family member. my older daughter.

This was my very first freestanding night light with the silhouette mounted on a backboard fixed to a stand. The problem is she no light up any more.

Well...it's not the PIR controller seen here powering a 5V LED strip.

The Fairy lights are OC (open circuit). To demo using a simple test, set analogue multimeter to the X1 OHMS range and probe the wire ends (using clip leads here) like I'm doing here with a length of Fairy LED's.

Prised the LED's off the MDF. I'll use that spare one as a replacement.

I'll also add some Rice AKA Wheat LED's to increase brightness.

Hot glued the replacement Fairy lights and here hooked up the Rice lights to test everything before proceeding.

With the replacement lighting done and the standoffs given a light sand on the belt & disc sander then applied glue to the standoffs and with paper on the backboard to catch any drops turned her over, located and pressed down - and hold.

Add weight and let the glue dry.

Back later to finish off...
