Continuing on from the previous session a week ago, Crikey got side tracked with tech stuff like phones, tablets and the Windows 10 Creator Update...we will continue with mounting the bearing flanges on the bandsaw wheels. Yes...this early stage is a time consuming and critical process that must be done in a particular order.
We are ready to mount the first bearing flange.
I have a pointer setup to measure wheel wobble.
The screw holes are pre drilled.
Now you can see the reason for those four large holes, to allow clamps to be passed through to clamp the flange.
While tapping the wheel on the circumference to minimize wheel wobble the clamps are progressively tightened and then four of the eight Torx screws carefully driven to locate the flange, the wheel can now be taken off the shaft and the flange removed to apply Melamine glue.
It's important to mark index arrows on the wheel and flange to ensure correct orientation for final mounting.
Back soon...
