14” Bandsaw – First wheel second flange

We can now mount the second flange, the clamps here go through onto the one I did this morning.

We can now mount the second flange, the clamps here go through onto the one I did this morning.

Same procedure as the first one, tapping around the outer to minimize wobble while tightening the clamps, then drive in 4 screws to locate the flange and mark index arrows before removing wheel from shaft.

Nearly done with the first wheel, remove clamps and slide wheel of shaft. Remove flange and apply glue, correctly locate and fix with eight Torx screws.

Prepping the second wheel, as with the first one all the screws fixing the two discs together (can't glue Melamine to itself) to make one wheel are slightly to long. If I leave them like that I'm sure to rip my fingers so cutting off the tips using a rotary tool with cutting disc.

Marking and drilling the second set of bearing flanges.

Back tomorrow to finish the second wheel.
