Japanese Spitz - Part 1

Customer order came in yesterday for a doggie night light.

Sent a few mock-up's for approval and this is what she picked.

I do all my mock-up's in MS Word 2013

Printed the beach sunset on A4 glossy photo paper.

Printed the cutting template on plain paper.and here prepping to glue it onto a 3mm MDF blank.
One thing I learnt is to lay down masking tape first which makes removing the template later an easy task.

Over to the 8" scroll saw to pre-cut around the doggie.

Now off to the scroll saw.

Nearly done...

We are done with cutting.

I mentioned that laying down masking tape makes it easy to remove the template.

There you go, easy to peel off and...

Nice clean surface.

Sunny is out so let's get the spray painting done.

As the sun sets this corner is the last sunny spot.

Cut some pine strips for the inside frame.

Sand them down on the homemade 12" disc sander mounted on the wood lathe.

Also gathered some LED lights and a 3 x AA battery bos.

Tomorrow I'll buy a A4 photo frame when I do my local shopping trip.

Back soon...
