Mini Batman wall light - part 1

Here is the Mini Batman front panel, from two years ago! Went through my lighting stuff and found a auto day/night motion sensor controller with LED strip lights. With a bat this small the challenge is to fit that controller out-of-sight at the back.

I need to make a MDF middle layer panel to support the LED strip (on edge) right the way around the bat and then back inside to illuminate the name itself. The size of that MDF blank is OK so here we are tracing the outline.

Always hard to see lead pencil lines, even 4B on MDF.

Now... the LED strip needs to be recessed about 5mm back from the edge of the front panel so just freehand those lines and use a washer to close in the ends to form the curves.

That washer size allows for the LED strip to curve around - with minimal stress.

The LED strip will run around the edge of the middle layer MDF panel and is fixed in place with staples.

OK lets' head over to the homemade 8" band saw to cut the ends.

The rest needs to be done on the scroll saw. Enough for now and feeling better after that therapy session

Hopefully back tomorrow...
