Making a start by doing some prep work - glossy A4 background print, silhouette template prints and a black photo frame.
We need to make the internal frame that will sit inside the back of the picture frame using the MDF back of the actual picture frame. Dismantle the picture frame and grind off the spring steel retaining fingers and also remove the support stand from the MDF back and lightly sand down both sides.
We need four strips of wood to frame the MDF back. I measure and mark the end of 42 x 19mm dressed pine into four; then set the fence on the homemade 8” band saw and rip four strips.
I end up with two sets which works out well as I will need the 2nd set later on in the build.
Sand four strips on the wood lathe 12” disc sander then measure, mark and cut to fit flush with the MDF back.
Glue them down and…
add some weight on top.
Back soon...
