For the next few nights; there is a 4° coming up on Saturday night so we’ll bring her back into the laundry.
With Speckles inside the last few cold nights the coop heater has been turned off. Now turned on again, see next photos for coop temps.
This is what I use to monitor temperatures outside and inside the chook shed.
Jaycar - XC0322 Wireless in-out Thermometer-and Hygrometer. The LCD receiver unit is capable of receiving information from up to 3 sensor units - I have two of them.
Here the display is showing Channel 1 for the sensor just outside the chook shed.
This is Channel 2 displaying inside temperature.
The chook heater which is automatically controlled uses a Ceramic Infrared Light Heat Emitter. I have two of them which I swap over depending upon the seasons, 250W for winter and a 75W going in and coming out of winter - lol.
