From the last session we’ll start making the knobs for the threaded rod.
Drill out centres to 3/8 inch.
Ozito multi purpose saw does away with hacksaw - swap to metal blade.
I'll cut that later.
We need to prepare and drill two dowels that will space the knobs away from the sides. This is my dowel jig for finding the centre and drilling the holes.
Place dowel in hole and give it a gentle tap to get the centre.
Like this…
Now clamp the dowel in the clamp jig.
Over to the drill press.
Drilling out the second dowel.
The spacer makes room to grip the knob.
OK…now cut the rod in half with the multi purpose saw.
Mix up epoxy and apply the tighten up the lower nut to pull the rods rods straight and square up everything - leave overnight to fry.
