Bought a few more items from Bunnings yesterday so I could move on with the scroll saw build - today.
Starting to take shape
At this point right here, with a scroll saw blade mounted in the inverted jigsaw, I can now measure, cut and mount the main saw arm.
This is the tricky bit, how to adapt a scroll saw blade to fit the jigsaw ? I don't really have any used blades so I had to use a new one from the ALDI Workzone jigsaw set. Not to worry I'll just buy another set when they come around again.
I made some measurements and cut the new blade with a angle grinder. I need some sort of adaptor so I squashed a small bracket to clamp the blades. Note - I bought both pinned and plain blades, later on I'll make another adaptor for the pinned type.
Also got two extension springs, one will be used to tension the main arm at the back of the saw.
Close up of the blade adaptor clamp. I'm surprised how well that worked out.
End of this session…back soon.
