On the table saw I ripped off a 50mm length from what was provided. We need to select a bit with the right profile, a 22mm rounding over will be fine.
Adjusting the bit depth so the shoulder only lightly cuts into the material.
We need to radius one end, I could cut it on the 9” bandsaw but...
The disc sander will be OK. I used a metal washer (mud flap washer) to pencil the arc.
We only have one lump of wood so no room for mistakes, better have a practice on a scrap piece of timber.
Straight from the practice one to the job piece and do it, turn over and do the other side - done and looks OK.
A bit of light sanding to finish this part and we can rip down to requested size height.
ALDI Taurus table saw with a decent Irwin 40 tooth blade, adequate for my needs. We need to set width to 50mm.
And finally cut off at 550 mm.
Enough for now, time for lunch.
