Buy one of these.
Directly connected the phone battery drains rather quickly so got the Y cable.
Samsung USB 2.0 Ultra Portable External DVD Writer Model SE-218. I purchased this in 2016 from Caribbean Gardens and Market (RIP)
The DVD Writer is presenting as 'Media Card' top right.
Using FX File Explorer for everything that's Android. It only cost a few bucks to buy and I can used it on multiple devices - is good.
I was going to make my own USB OTG cable but for $10 why bother.
