Refurbishing BBQ table - Part 1

I made this BBQ table (with bench seats) from left over hardwood flooring after the house was built - 50 years ago!

Anyway... did I say refurbish it's actually a tear down and salvage what I can.

This photo was taken in 2019 when Al's Workshop was in full swing and I used the table mainly for spray painting. It was starting to rot so I covered the thing with a tarp.
Dismantled the table and went through the boards quite a lot of tongue & groove missing so using of the bench seats I clamped and planned the edge of each one as best I could.

Can't remember the last time I used the power plane.

Juggling the boards on two saw horses to come up with the best fit.

Some of the leg bolts have rusted so I cut the off with the Ozito Multi Purpose saw.

Bracing the table towards the middle with some timber before I clamp and bolt the legs. Screwed down the also help to flatten any warping.

Fixing one of the legs using a long reach vice clamp so I have room to drill the 5/16" pilot holes.

With that side done we can do the other leg.

This end bolted now go around and do the last one.

Legs are bolted to the table.

Amazing how many tools come out of the workshop.

Need a break and light rain now so clear everything to the workshop.

Back soon to tack on that last board...
