Al's Kitchen - Nasi goreng

Nasi goreng on the left and a mild madras curry on the right.

That's an ALDI Wok, one of my favorite  cooking utensils.

No recipe - I did my own thing which is always a bit of a gamble; will it turn out all right?

I made the pot of fluffy Basmati rice yesterday and boxed to sit in the fridge overnight.

After measuring out the beef and chicken quantities I made a mild madras curry with the leftover.

Tastes OK.

This is the paste I used and happy with the results.

Even this small pack of three was to much. same for the stir fry beef pack -  hence the beef curry’'.

What I used-

  • Small pack of stir fry beef.
  • Small pack of chicken thigh cutlets in bone.
(See photo of what I got, hard to find small pack).
  • Tin of prawns.
  • AYAM NASI GORENG PASTE 185 G.
  • Onions diced with some sliced.
  • Basmati rice - cooked day before fridge overnight.

Heat oil in wok.
Slice chicken off bone, cut in pieces, chuck in and fry - remove.
Cuck in beef, fry a bit and remove.
Empty paste into wok and heat a bit.
Toss in beef and chicken, cook for a bit add onion.
Drain prawns and chuck in.
Leave for a while then add rice - toss well.
Simmer with occasional toss & taste until done.

Time to clean up and do some dish washing – by hand.

No dish washer – that’s right we don’t have one!

When we renovated the kitchen about 15 years ago everyone including the kitchen company was surprised there was no dish washer. In that spot is simply a ‘auto’ rubbish bin that folds out when the right under-sink door is opened – happy with that. Our folks never had one – we don’t need one.
