Rough Collie on stand – part 6C

We need to mount the IR receiver board (PCB) so that the actual IR photo diode is visible from the front through a 'window' which needs to look neat and tidy.

Went for a walk around the workshop looking for things that might be suitable as a window, lens, cover or bezel to hide the actual infra-red photo diode.

Looks interesting...looking at the small ones.

Found a piece of scrap plywood about the size of the A4 stand night lights. Drilled a hole, popped in one of the small eyelets and held with sticky tape.

Happy with the look of that.

Infra- red photo diode held down with masking tape. This completes the test mock-up.

The IR board test setup is down the back there on that middle workbench and the remote controls works well. We are good to go ahead and use the same build method on the actual Collie night light.
