Replacing rotten weather boards (part 6)

Last board is up and one may wonder why it's taking so long for only four boards. When the boards are prised off there are lots of nails left behind and it took a while to get them all out with large round nose nail puller and side cutters.

The old vapor barrier paper was a bit tatty so had staple and even patch some areas with plastic from packaging.

Here you can see how I marked the stud locations as I tacked on each board.

This is the ALDI WorkZone cordless sliding miter saw that I got from Knox for $49 bucks down from $149.

Needs the 4A battery, I have two of them for this and two drills.

This is what I needed for the job:
Pry bar for removing the boards, round nose nail puller and large side cutters for removing all the left behind nails.

Packet of 2.8 x 50mm galvanised flat head nails, drill pilot holes to prevent splitting.

With 3.0M boards and only one pair of hands I came up with the idea to tack one end with 25mm narrow head staples while the other end was propped on a bit of timber cut to provide the correct board location.

Nearly there...

First coat done so off for a break.

I'll be back...
