Internal cuts are time consuming as each segment of a letter needs pilot holes for the blade to pass through.
For each segment the blade has to be removed, threaded into the next hole and then setup again on the scroll saw.
For internal cutting scroll saws are generally supplied with pinless blade clamp adaptors. You pass the pinless blade through the workpiece pilot hole, clamp the bottom end and then align the whole thing and clamp the top end of the blade. Bloody hell...that's a recurring nightmare so I have come up with a hybrid solution.
I have prepared some 'hybrid blades' for internal cutting where the top blade pin is removed. With tension arm relaxed pass the blade through the work piece and hook onto the lower blade arm. Keeping tension slide the safety pin into the top blade hole and hook onto the blade arm and apply the tension lever - done.
Here we are setting up for the third letter.
Moving along to the fourth letter.
The masking tape allows for easy removal of the template.
Setting up on the carousel for spray painting.
Time for a break...back soon
