Router lift - Some thoughts (part 1)

Investigating the possibility of using a car scissors jack as a router lift ALDI WorkZone router table.

Something like this to raise/lower the plunge router.

This is my router table, when this photo was taken had a special jig setup to cut pulleys and wheels.











This is the jack out of my Toyota Camry.

  

Why not have a go at build my own scissors jack, the arms are cut from laminate flooring - handy stuff.

That might even work...lets give it a go.

It worked quite well raising and lowering the router...until this happened. That's OK...it's only pine, we need some hardwood and I have none not even scrap bits - put on the shopping list. Off to Bunnings tomorrow....to be continued.
