From the last session we glued the planks together so we can continue making the basic scanner box.
The planks are tongue & groove, we don't want the groove on the bottom planks so trimmed them off on the 8" sliding mitre saw and here we are planing the bottom edges and checking they are all the same width.
For now we will just tack the box together with brads.
Next we need to cut a thin MDF top panel that will support the phone.
Clamp the MFD sheet and start sawing with a panel saw.
With the width cut done one more cut for the height.
Back to the workbench.
Before working on the top phone we need to add another row of boards which should het us close to the focal length of the camera lens
Thinking... the Lenovo 10" tablet is a older model with a bulging battery pack so I'll have to support the other side with a strip of timber. This tablet is of course is sitting higher off the base bottom than the slimline one's, how will that effect the camera focal length - should bo OK.
Laying out and measuring the phone windows position - tricky.
Cut out on the scroll saw.
