Bailey - Stairwell barriers 1

When we moved to Meadowbrook Mansion (coined) eighteen years ago I put up this barrier for Phoenix our Tonkinese and Gipsy a Chihuahua. We also had Cara a big Maremma. Later on when Gipsy and Cara were gone RIP we got Holly a Golden Retriever and Pixie a Miniature Pinscher and then two more Siamese. cats - Milo & Luna. I think that animal timeline is correct.

Anyway none of those pets showed any interest in jumping onto and walking the stair hand rails.
We have been petless since Pixie left us in August and now we have Bailey (another Tonkinese) and he is already showing interest in the stair hand rails!.

Bailey update

Day 2 and whenever we get a chance like when the boy is having a snooze we tend to our puncture wounds.

Rock wall garden edging - Part 1

 Removing excess soil

It's surprising how much soil washes in from the top garden level through the rock wall to overfill the narrow garden bed. So much that the metal garden edging is bulging out in places and looks unsightly.

I actually started this job a couple of day go by digging or rather scooping out soil along the back of the edging.

Chook run tidy again

Speckles will be happy that everything is back to normal.

Workshop drainage - Part 12 Final

 Finish pebble back filling

After finishing and tidying up in the chook run we are back outside to finish backfilling the pebbles.

Getting ready to staple the edge of the cage wire.

Workshop drainage - Part 11

 Finishing inside the cook run.

As posted yesterday before I can finish the last bit of pebble backfilling there's some work to do inside the chook run - in that corner..

We stopped back filling here.

Workshop drainage - part 9

Connecting PVC pipe to corner grate

Mixing up some mortar in a spare chook tray bed which is actually a kitty litter tray screwed to a chipboard base. I say 'spare' because we only have one chook left (Speckles) all the others are gone.

Garage drainage - part 5

After three days of inclement weather and not being able to pick up tools (downed tools) it's good to come out of hibernation.

More kneeling... need to cut out the end of that angled timber so the corner grate can line up with the PVC pipe.

What can I use to cut that out?

New plants to replace Jasmine

From the Bunning trip last week - planting plants

This is the section where I removed all the Jasmine that was pulling down the trellis and damaging the fence - see last photo.

Garage drainage - part 3

I need to work out how to connect 90mm PVC to the corner grate.

Bunnings new work boots - follow-up

Garage drainage - part 2

Took me over a hour to remove that star pickett, no room for the crowbar so had to use that garden trowel digging on only one side - phew.

Lucky that I have this one and only 4.3M 90mm PVC pipe leftover from a previous job.

Bunnings - New work boots!

Looking through the boot range at Bunnings was about to give up as most were $80 to over $200 bucks - Crikey. Walking away I noticed some boots at floor level hidden behind a display box for $33 - grabbed them.

Garage drainage - part 1

With the weather becoming more unpredictable and extreme these days I need to provide some drainage across the front of my workshop.

I call it Al's Workshop but it's simply  a colorbond steel   garage with four skylights, two back windows, side entry door and front roller door.

Speckles in the laundry.

With a 3150 overnight of only 5° Speckles is in the laundry tonight.

This also leaves the entry foyer clear for our visitor Sprocket.

Feels like a Pet B&B lol.

Medion Wireless Rear View Mirror - Revisited

Purchased this from ALDI in August 2015 and earlier this year it stopped working. I have been dealing all year with the left eyeball and poo...
