Speckles - very hot weather!

Very hot today approaching forty degrees and Speckles has moved from the gazebo area down to the cottage garden where it's always cooler.

I followed her down with water and feed plus a platter of cold corn & rice.

Amazing how much cooler it is here under the shade, let's check the temperature.

Temperature observations-

That white thing is the wireless temperature sensor from her chook shed.

There's another sensor just outside in the chook run.

The main purpose is to monitor winter temperatures in conjunction with the coop heater.

This is the base station in the kitchen and the top reading (Channel 1) is the chook run temp - very hot!

The bottom is kitchen temp.

The display is now switched to Channel 2 which is the chook shed sensor that I moved to the cottage garden.

Sensor is still adjusting itself as it settles down so we have at least a ten degree difference!

Chickens are clever creatures.
