and a big and heavy GMC blower vac - that died on me today.
Above: I suspect the short power cable is intermittent where the lead enters the handle.
Above: Lots of screws to remove before you can crack the shell.
Above: I still prefer to use a VOM (volt ohm meter) for continuity checking. As already mentioned at the top of the list is that short input power lead with plug.
Above: The short power lead (on the left) is always under stress and takes a lot of flexing and yes - its OC. The standard IEC power lead on the right is a perfect replacement.
Above: New lead wired in, unit cleaned and working again. When I prised off the handle insert it was inevitable that some of the tabs would break off – they did. I’ll remove the masking tape after the contact adhesive had dried.
