Setup a wireless colour camera in the run to monitor the little girls with the receiver connected to the Soniq 32" TV in the kitchen/meals area. As posted earlier I'll get the Cocoon Outdoor HD Wireless IP Camera from ALDI next Wednesday.

Buying some more bantam Pekins
Off this morning to Abundant Layers in Emerald to get three Pekins, 2 x buff and 1 x white. Spent the last couple of days building a box for them for the integration period and fencing off one end of the run. Samsung Galaxy is on charge so had to use the little Kodak M753 for the first shots.

Preparing for new chickens
We need to provide accommodation for the new girls (looks like three) during the integration period. Previously I used a timber dog kennel rescued from hard rubbish but that was years ago and it's been lying around unused, so I put it back out (where it come from) for the last collection - not knowing it would be needed again.
No need for anything fancy as it will only be used for about a month, I'm using plywood panels that I saved from a dismantled vintage 60's wardrobe.
USB Tower Fans
Woolworths - Hub It Accessory USB 2.0 Tower Fan - $5.00.
Bought one to try and surprised how well it works so went back and got some more of them to hand out to family and friends.
Need some more chooks
RIP my girl.

ALDI – Workzone pressure cleaner
Keen to try out the new toy this morning so setup to clean the driveway. Happy with the results and can report job completed in about 1/3 the time it took with the smaller GMC 1400W.
Ficus plants – potting them
This mornings effort was to setup for re-potting the Ficus fig plants. For each one used a paver for the pot base. The pots themselves are quite heavy - empty - so set them in place first then filled the bottom with pebbles for drainage. Mixed up 50/50 of garden soil and potting mix and filled to the right height, transfer plant and top up over the root ball - done.

Check out these crazy drivers
Heading down Ferntree Gully towards Eastlink overpass with Chesterfield Farm on the left, looked like Indian or Paki driving late model vehicles - WTF.

Ruby is back home – RIP
Collected her from the bird vet, she is buried next to Lily (white Pekin).
Holly recovering…
Holly recovering after her vet visit LOL. This time of year her favorite spot is at the bottom of the stairs where it's always cooler.
Holly–vet checkup
Holly to Boronia Vet for her quarterly check-up. It's over 12 months since her radical cruciate ligament surgery and as usual Tony got me to walk her up and down the long back corridor to check her rear end gait and once again the same summary, if you didn't know she had the op you wouldn't be able to pick the leg. She also gets her usual arthritis jab and this time we got a couple of her lumps re-checked again which returned fatty - all good.

Cleaning pebbles
Cooler day to carry on with digging and raking pebbles - must keep going. Got held up with a bit of drain repair but now moving forward again.

Shopping – more garden stuff
Just got back from some more shopping, mostly garden stuff from the Market and Bunnings but also dropped into Rivers at Knox.
Above: ET spotted the two big pots at the market for $20 each, great buy and exactly what I wanted for the front of the carport piers. Lots of plants and garden edging with pins for the bottom of the porch rockery to trap the soil from above.

Garden blower-vac problems
Believe it or not I still have some GMC tools !!!
A GMC 24V hammer drill with 2 x NiCad batteries-that still take a charge! :
https://alanm52.wordpress.com/2010/06/02/gmc-24v-2-speed-cordless-hammer-139/
A GMC pressure washer that's still going strong:
https://alanm52.wordpress.com/2005/07/14/gmc-1400w-pressure-cleaner/
and a big and heavy GMC blower vac - that died on me today.
Above: I suspect the short power cable is intermittent where the lead enters the handle.
