GARMIN - Smartphone Link

As posted earlier bought a GARMIN GPS off our older daughter.

Browsing the Garmin website came across the Smartphone Link app (interesting) so installed it on my Samsung GT-N7000 Note.

GSL has many features but I'm mainly interested in sending (over Bluetooth) phone contact addresses to the GPS so I don’t have to enter them into the unit itself. The other interesting feature is using the unit for hands free phone operation.

With the app installed and Bluetooth link established I can bring up a contact on the phone and tap on the address field to send the location info to the GPS which then comes up with a confirmation screen prompting to hit the GO button – nice.

Here you can see a list of test contact addresses I’ve sent to the phone. The number gobbledygook entries in bold can be edited to display friendly names like Mackenzie's Farm.
