Cleaning horse rugs

Now that it’s winter horse rugs start appearing on the front porch, they are left there for my attention – to clean.

I use a small GMC pressure cleaner connected to the water tank.

My favourite cleaning spot is the sloping front driveway.

Laying down the rug attracts plenty of attention - Pixie having a good sniff.
Use the suds bottle to lather up. You should not do this with canvas rugs.

You can see the difference. Both sides need to be done.

If you do you will need to reproof the canvas.

We use a product called Wet-a-Way and yes it's expensive.

I'm taking the rugs through to the backyard to rinse off and Pixie wants to follow but I closed the gate on her - why?
I put up a temporary fence along the back of the carport to manage traffic while the chooks and Pixie get to know each other - then it will come down.

Hang it somewhere to rinse off and dry. I use the two seater garden swing thing.

While were here we may as well do ET’s car, it travels on dirt roads everyday .

Like before apply suds and then switch to the lance to wash off – done.
