I need to know exactly where to locate the top edge of the upper wheel assembly horizontal support arm and mark that off on the vertical support.

14” Bandsaw-Vertical post preparation
14” Bandsaw–move it off bench
From the previous post and before it gets to heavy I need to move the saw off the workbench and onto a stand or table. Would also be nice to move it around easily.
Found the low table in the downstairs rumpus room that I used for the first bandsaw but, also came across this TV stand. Replaced the feet with a ALDI castor set, one pair lockable.
14" Bandsaw - sneak preview of next stage
Sneak preview of next stage of the build process.
Before I go any further I need to go find in the downstairs rumpus room (store room) the low sturdy table that I used to stand the first bandsaw on, that one turned out to be 6'8" high - and I am 6'2".
Doing some layout planning for the upper wheel support arm to find where it needs to be located on the vertical post. I have a length of timber clamped the lower wheel to measure the wheel centres – see next photo.

14" Bandsaw – Part 2 020118
14" Bandsaw - Upper wheel block
From the last session where we finished installing the motor unit the next job was to bolt the main vertical post to the base box but...I'll put that on hold and build the upper wheel mount assembly which will make it easier to measure and cut the vertical post to ensure I have 70mm between the wheel centers, with the sliding wheel mounting block sitting on the bottom of its frame - more on this later.

14" Bandsaw project – Motor mount
To reiterate gave up with the hinged motor mount and went for a similar setup like the 8" bandsaw, simply sit the motor base on the floor of the base box. When the motor is positioned correctly for front to back belt alignment and belt tension the pine strip 'clamps' are screwed down to secure the motor.
