14” Bandsaw - New Project

Just finished the 8” bandsaw and decided to build another 14" bandsaw to replace the one lost in the 2016 shed fire that took around 7 months to build.

I will be using the 8" bandsaw (see previous posts) to build this one. To get started went looking for and found enough Melamine particleboard (16mm) to cut 4 x 14" discs which will make 2 wheels each 32mm wide - more on this later.

We need to cut 4 of these on the mini band saw so start by trimming them on the table saw.

We need to cut 4 of these on the 8" band saw so lets' start by trimming them on the table saw.

Done three of them and this in number Four.

Here are the other three.

Need to make relief cuts around the circumference first, then cut carefully to the line...

like this. Lots of patience is required.

Moving along...

Two done and time for a rest and let the saw motor cool down.

Enough for now I'll be back to do the other pair.
