Table saw – Mini crosscut sled

During construction of the bandsaw (and other stuff around the workshop) I had need to cut small parts, to small and to dangerous for the big 12" sliding mitre saw, so I just made a small crosscut sled for the table saw.

The base and tracks are laminate flooring with front & back from pine.
I need to make a blade guard for the front of the sled and also limit how far it can be pushed forward.

I was going to make the guard from this pine offcut but decided to use a larger bit of pine.

Found a bit of pine for the blade guard and note the two laminate strips at the end of the tracks to limit forward travel.

Talcum power is always handy in the workshop.

Closer view of the stop strips so the sled can't be inadvertently pushed right through the saw blade!
