Motion sensor for water feature

As posted earlier we purchased a Cascading Barrels Water Feature from Masters for the front porch and after a few days of usage it occurred to me that I would like to have the water feature turn on automatically when there is activity in the area – people walking around.

Off to Bunnings to purchase a Arlec Compact Movement Activated Sensor.

Arlec Compact Movement Activated Sensor

A massive 12 metre range is coupled with a full 180° detection angle to provide the ultimate in security.
An in-built on-time timer and daylight level controls prevent daytime operation, while a manual override facility ensures proper operation at all times of the day or night.

Mounting the sensor on a plastic hobby case which can then be fixed on the brick pier facing the entry area.

All done and working well, the top of the box has a un-switched power point socket and you can see the power plug of the water pump transformer plugged into the socket up there. Enough for today, I’ll roll up and cable tie the power lead out of sight after some testing.
