Replacing rotten weather boards (part 2)

These days stuff like this comes primed but regardless of that I'm going to give them two coats of primer and when up another two coats of Mission Brown on the outside face. Found a 10L can of Dulux Weathershield White that's never been opened but must be going on 20 years old, will it be OK ?. Popped the lid and it will be fine, just needs a bloody good stir. But... I don't have the larger drill powered paint stirrer and not even going to try with a flat stick.

Long timber roofing screw with the head cut off.

Let's get back to the job.

Replacing rotten weather boards (part 1)

Our AV Jennings 'Catalina' family home has been in the family for 49 years. It features weather boards below all the main windows and no complaints that some of them need replacing.

Bedroom 3 - all four boards need replacing.

Passive Metal Detector - Paw patrol

After all the trade and DIY activity over the last couple of weeks I had a feeling there would be sharp objects lying around the back yard, like nails and screws hidden in the grass and garden beds!

Al's metal detector - this morning made this like...on the spot. Batteries not required.

Garden shed refit - part 5

We can start moving stuff back into the shed.

Garden shed refit - part 4

Had to remove the top cross pieces that originally held the planks together to squeeze the unit in between the shed end and the window frame.

Garden shed refit - part 3

Continued on making the storage unit from the packing case shelving.

To continue we need a flat surface so moving from here to the carport.

Another new toy for kitties.
