Mulling over getting a new i7 tower to replace the Balcony PC which is a Scorptec E5200/G31M-SL2/4GB/GT210 about 8 years old. Meanwhile...we could jazz up the current one so ordered a Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8 GHz 3 MB Cache 1066 MHz FSB LGA 775 CPU Processor from a NSW eBay guy for $8.90. If this works out I'll get a 120/250GB SSD and maybe do another CPU upgrade.

Computers continued
Meanwhile in the workshop we are reviving a couple of Dell towers. One of them is a beautiful (but aging) Precision 670 workstation with dual Xeon processors but only 1GB RAM. Browsing eBay I can get typically get 4GB of ECC for around $40 bucks - might do that.

ALDI - Home Security System
This one came around again last year (special-buys-sat-12-dec), didn't take much notice because we already have one that's been running well for a few years now. Noticed last week that one reappeared in the glass cabinet marked down from $199 to $149, checked on the Winplus site and the cameras do have a higher res etc. so went back and got it. I swapped two cameras out and the res improvement is minimal however the night IR performance has markedly improved. More to come...

Holly–grooming session
That particular comb with alternating short and long teeth really does work well to remove loose or dead hair.

ALDI - night lights
Already have a couple of the one on the right @ $9.99 each so this time around didn't notice there was a second choice until browsing today - so got one to try. Note that the price has gone up from $9.99 to $12.99.

The Glen – Glen Waverley 1
Off to Chinatown this morning to do some banking & shopping in Target. While looking for a particular wireless extender (see other post) came across this DAB radio with no brand name other than 'Target Retro Radio' reduced from $59 to $29. Out of the box it works really well with good tone from two decent speakers along with battery operation - impressive.

Peaceful hen house
Finally...peace in the hen house but not without some effort and the addition of a mezzanine floor with integrated ramp, all due to bossy boots Speckles.
Mezzanine floor:
Bella (white) in the middle with the buff's either side, I think Peaches on the left of Bella and Honey over the other side.
The table:
Misty on the left and bossy boots Speckles.
Searching for pappadums
From last year been trying to find something to replace Globe's pappadums, been through many trial packets/box's and finally settled on Mother's Madras Pappadum. Bought 10 packets today from Quality Groceries in Glen Waverley - they microwave well but pan fry not as good as Globe’s.

Target shopping - continued
Also got this Wi-Fi extender for the ALDI Maginon IP Security Camera.
Patched the desktop directly to the unit for setup to connect (extend) to the upstairs Wi-Fi which is the previous Bigpond Netgear CGD24N cable router. Then went into the Maginon setup to switch over to the TP-Link - all good.

Masters–clearance sales
Funny how things pan out sometimes, only this afternoon painted our el-cheapo Cheap as Chips park bench and a few hours later off to Masters to buy a new one. $199 down to $99 – good buy.
